If Not for LiSA…
Phil and I have a saying. “If not for FFS … ”, and then we fill in the blanks: “… We wouldn’t have such a HUGE family. We wouldn’t be able to see the world with people we love. We wouldn’t be ‘changing the face of insurance.’ We wouldn’t know what Hmong pepper sauce is.” You get the picture.
Well, here is a new one. “If not for FFS … there would be no LiSA Initiative.” And LiSA is opening doors and experiences and relationships we never thought imaginable, expanding our sphere of influence and therefore our collective ability to “help all people achieve financial security and peace of mind.”
I had the privilege of meeting John Hope Bryant earlier this month. If not for LiSA, I would not have had the opportunity to meet this amazing man.
John Hope Bryant is the founder, chairman and CEO of Operation HOPE, whose headquarters are here in Atlanta but whose influence extends all over the world. He is a champion of those “who have not received the memo” that free enterprise is the key to creating a thriving economy that works for the 100%. He aspires to “expand the philosophy of free enterprise to include all of God’s children.”
He also champions the cause of financial literacy, but has the unique perspective, similar to ours, that we must touch both sides of the brain when teaching people about money. Teaching financial literacy, of course, has everything to do with facts and data, but there is an emotional/psychological/spiritual dimension that must be addressed if we truly want to influence people for generations to come.
Please take time to visit his website, www.JohnHopeBryant.com, and check out his articles and interviews. You will be inspired and filled with hope.
I have read two of his books, How the Poor Can Save Capitalism and Love Leadership. Rarely will you hear a voice on these subjects with such wisdom, insight and passion. It’s all about the heart, and John Hope Bryant is speaking the truth in love.
Until next time,
