LiSA Initiative & Dr. George Fraser Launch Alliance at PowerNetworking Conference
Not long after returning from PowerNetworking Conference 2015, LiSA Initiative representative Jennifer Jones-Peoples related a story from the first time she attended the event that summed up why it is considered one of the best conferences for entrepreneurs.
“I remember the first time I attended – it was in Atlanta – and I walked into a large, elegantly decorated room where one of the awards luncheons was to be held,” Jennifer explained. “The room was filled to capacity, and in the middle was a table for all of the keynote speakers. In the center of the table set aside for this impressive group was the sign that read, ‘The Family Table.’”
Jennifer says its that familial atmosphere that Dr. George C. Fraser has cultivated at these events that truly sets his PowerNetworking Conferences apart from other conventions, and why she makes it a point to attend each year.
“Every year, Dr. Fraser brings in some of the most powerful, national and international entrepreneurs, scholars, and spiritual leaders to share their wisdom, messages of inspiration and personal stories with us,” she said. “And yet, these powerful people are so accessible and welcoming. We have the ability to form relationships with them, and ask questions or advice much in the same way we might with a trusted aunt of uncle.”
At the 2015 event, it was Jennifer, along with fellow LiSA representatives Vivianne Hardy-Townes, Shirley Johnson, and Lisa Chair and First Financial Security Co-CEO Debbie Gerlicher who were among the 70 plus speakers Dr. Fraser invited to participate. All agreed it was an honor and a privilege to share their knowledge and expertise with those seated in rooms filled to capacity at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, June 25-27.
It was Vivianne Hardy-Townes’ first time attending and first time speaking at the conference that Forbes magazine called one of 2015’s Top 5 Can’t Miss Conferences for Entrepreneurs.
“This was the 14th year for the FraserNet PowerNetworking Conference, and all I could keep thinking was, ‘Where the heck have I been for the last 14 years that I haven’t attended before?’.” Vivianne said. “It was my first and what an incredible honor to be featured speaker to share the FFS LiSA Initiative and our commitment to eradicating financial illiteracy in America.”
“I felt a deep sense of humility when a young man (who looked like a baby Bob Marley) I had spent time talking with, came up to me and thanked me for changing his life.”
The 2015 event marked a first for LiSA Initiative and First Financial Security, Inc., its sponsoring organization, as well. The financial services provider and the women’s grassroots financial organization were proud Strategic Partners for the annual PowerNetworking Conference and made the most of their first-time sponsorship.
With one of the largest booths in the Exhibit area, LiSA representatives shared information about the organization and its efforts to bring financial literacy to communities throughout the country, as well as gave away fun reminders of LiSA Initiatives, such as pens and note pads, tins of mints and pins all featuring the distinctive LiSA logo. As Strategic Partner for the event, FFS/LiSA provided every conference attendee with a canvass business bag with both the LiSA and FraserNet logos embroidered on it.
The two organizations were well represented by human resources as well. In addition to Debbie, Jennifer, Shirley and Vivianne, LiSA representatives Stevenson Tull, Alita Gregg, Dr. Madeline Lewis, Edith Chatman and Peggy Morris attended. FFS CEO Phil Gerlicher and President Meg Jones networked with business owners and leaders from around the country. Dawn Franklin of American National Insurance Company (ANICO) also attended as an advanced product resource.
The FFS/LiSA sponsorship of the PowerNetworking Conference was a natural progression of a deepening partnership between the financial services provider and Dr. Fraser. This powerful alliance based on common values, purpose, and a calling to bring financial education and innovative products that have a generational impact to all Americans.
Debbie reiterated the organization’s commitment to Dr. Fraser, his organization and its cause, during her remarks to those in attendance as part of a panel discussion.
“FFS and LiSA are committed to you, Dr. Fraser,” Debbie said. “We’re committed to this community, and we’re committed to our shared calling to help all people achieve financial security and peace of mind. Although our partnership is young, it is strong, and we are resolute in our desire that it be a long and lasting relationship.”
During the course of the event, Dr. Fraser spoke often about FFS, LiSA Initiative, and the important role the two organizations would play in his group’s future goals. In fact, Sat., June 27 was designated M.O.S.E.S Movement (a FraserNet organization) and LiSA Initiative Day at the event.
“FFS and LiSA are integral, essential to the inter-workings of our organization and what we want to accomplish moving forward,” Dr. Fraser said. “Everybody needs what this company offers – its products and Financial Literacy. People will benefit from both now and for generations to come.”
Both Jennifer and Vivianne see the relationship between the organizations only growing stronger, and by working together and leveraging their common values, strengths and resources, they can have a impact on the lives and futures of many Americans.
“LiSA Initiative and FraserNet have a deep relationship that was consummated at PowerNetworking 2015,” Jennifer said. “Our opportunities are tremendous for the coming months and future years! The depth and ability for us to lead the conversation on financial literacy is ours if we want it. We have the opportunity through this partnership to bring together a consortium on Financial Literacy.”
Vivianne sites Fraser Net’s commitment to reversing the flow of wealth out of communities of color, and Dr. Fraser’s understanding that the first steps to restoring financial stability and viability is through financial education align perfectly with the principles that serve as the cornerstones of LiSA Initiative.
“I envision a marriage of the FFS LiSA Initiative and FraserNet’s M.O.S.E.S. Movement will be an historic catalyst to shift the wealth dynamic nationally and internationally not only for people of color,” Vivianne said, “but also for all people seeking the fulfillment of the promise of abundance.
